News from November 2008

Just as the last of the fireworks were going off in the early hours of November 6th 2008, Westrikatt Shannon (Bob) gave birth to a colourful collection of kittens, from the mating with Coscathas Royal Rebel. All the kittens, which were named after Bonfire night, are now settled in their new homes.

Sparkler is now called Hattie and lives with Matthew and Anna in Surrey, and another tortie called 'Sky'. Together the girls cause plenty of mischief. They now have access to a superb, secure, outdoor space (built by Matthew and his Dad) which they can get to from the house. They are two very lucky and indulged felines!
Gunpowder – Female blue tabby Gunpowder was renamed Layla and lived in Birmingham, with Sabrina and family and had two little girls to play with her. Allowed to go outside sometimes, she tragically drank some antifreeze and died before her first birthday.

Rocket – Male Red tabby and white (pictured above) Catherine – Female tortie (pictured below) Rocket and Catherine are living with the Lawrence family in Reading, Berkshire and share their home with 'Indie' the resident cat and all have become good friends now. They have been to several shows now and have done very well. Their owners have now taken loads of photographs of them and if you go on our links page and 'Jules cats' you will be able to see them.

Dynamite Male Brown Tabby (Picture Above) Dynamite is now called Bear and lives in Kent with his two feline companions called Phoebe and Lily. He is still a bit naughty and he loves to swing off the net curtains and they were on their 3rd pair, in their new home, last time I heard from his owners! In late 2009 Rach and Liam had another addition to the family, but this time a beautiful baby girl called Elsea.

Darjeeling – Female brown tabby and white (pictured above) and Denim – Female blue tabby and white (pictured below) Darjeeling and Denim lived near my home in Marlow, so I was able to visit them and watch them grow up into beautiful, but very out going cats. They lived with Ellie, Tony, their son, a Persian cat and a Dalmatian dog.  Sadly both cats died in separate road traffic accidents and are very missed by their family.

Dunvegan - Male brown tabby and white (pictured above) and Dim Sum – Female brown tabby and white (pictured below) They have gone to live in Essex with Steve, Chris and Verity and have joined another NFC of the same age. All are good friend and Dim Sum has now been re-named Freya. Dunvegan likes to burst balloons and hear them pop, which may explain why he is fascinated by their bedside alarm clock and setting it off earlier than his owners would like! Freya on the other hand, has worked out how to switch on the pull cord in the bathroom and turn the light on. However as feline boss of the house, she likes nothing better than to cuddle up in Chris's arms and go to sleep.

Diva - Female brown tabby and white Diva made the very long journey to China with her owner Alex in 2009 and this will now be her permanent home.  She lives with a British Short Hair friend called ‘Xiaoxiao’ which I believe means cute.  Although far away, I hope Alex will send us some pictures and news of her soon.

A short time after the kittens were born, the sire, Hoejmarken’s Goliath, very sadly died. His son Haakon is very like his dad in many ways and he has gone to live with Barney and Vera, the breeders of my first Norwegian Forest Cats. He is maturing into a beautiful, large boy and it gives me great pleasure to watch him grow up and see him often.

Now called Archie by Lisa, he is living in Caversham, Berks with several other feline friends. Lisa has successfully enclosed her large, rural garden and the cats are having a wonderful time exploring the outside space, while being safe and secure.

Bergen lives with the Lafferty family in Surrey and has a super laid back temperament. Sadly his litter mate Blog, was tragically killed in a car accident round about his first birthday.

Bliss (female tortie tabby and white)	Evig (male brown tabby)

Bliss (now called maja) and Evig are a special wedding present from a work colleague Ian, to Ulrika, his Swedish wife. They now live in luxury at their home in Berkshire. Evig, now renamed Nisse was from a mating with Nordligdrom Astrid, but the two litters were born a few days apart and they grew up together.

Calzoni was a surprise birthday present for Mike, from Louise and their daughter who live in Ealing, London. He shares his home with 3 small dogs.

Cosima

The last born kitten from Astrid’s litter, was the naughtiest of all of them and still is. She lives with us and we wonder if this will change when she becomes grown up and more responsible. She has a super nature and has been easy to show, as she enjoys a fuss being made of her. She is very verbal and extremely affectionate.

Commodore

Commodore is very lucky to be living with Chris, Kirstin and another male Norwegian Forest Cat of his own age near London. Another large cat with a lovely nature, he has developed a spotted coat rather than tabby stripes.

Astrid lives with us and has become the mother to several Nordligdrom kittens.

Applique - has been neutered and stays at home with us and you will find details about her on the ‘Our Cats’ page.

Annakeega - Has gone to live in luxury with the Muswell family in Mill Hill, London and shares her home with several Norwegian Forest cats. In early spring 2009 she had a second litter of 3 beautiful kittens and details can be seen on their website.
